The Beginning of the End

It's the first week of the new semester, and we have a short amount of time before the exhibit opens!

While most of this week's focus has been on readjusting to Charleston, Eastern, and our new classes, the HAs have already been working hard on going forward with our exhibit. This semester will be full of fabrication and installation before we can sit back and admire our hard work.

First and foremost on our agenda is finalizing a booklet for Booth Library. You can see a full-length example here. It is from Booth Library's Fall 2016 exhibit, For All the World To See: Visual Culture and the Struggle for Civil Rights.

A booklet for a 2014 exhibit.

Another example of a booklet, from a 2014 exhibit. Booklets can found at the north and south entrances of the library.

These booklets typically compliment an exhibition in the library, promoting special programming events (stay tuned for information on that!), providing additional information on objects or partnering institutions, and a short biography of those involved. We have a quick deadline approaching, and several committees working on their respected projects are meeting between now and next Friday to nail down the design and detail. We're also taking headshots for the booklet, proving to be more exciting than it would seem, as we've quickly learned most of our group photos are bad, iPhone-quality selfies.

Look for our booklets throughout Booth Library in the upcoming weeks!
