Objects and Mounts, Oh My!

We are just under a month away from the opening of the exhibit! With the opening growing ever closer, the team continues the fabrication of the light boxes, the time capsule and the center kiosk. With all coming along well, for the most part. While working on the center kiosk we realized that part of our panels that we thought were wood are actually foam core. This threw a small wrench into our fabrication, however the team was able to quickly come up with a solution for this small problem.

While most of the team was continuing with the fabrication Meagan, Cayla, and Amanda, along with Dr. Barnhart and Mr. Riccio went to Springfield to pick up all of the artifacts/objects for the exhibit. Once back at EIU, Amanda and Cayla (the registrar team) conducted condition reports for all objects documenting each object and photographing each object. With the objects now at EIU, the team can now begin to design individual mounts for each item, making sure each one will be supported and secure once it is placed in the case.
