The End is Near
Hello Everyone!
Our semester is in the last few weeks and the pressure is really on and getting back into the groove of things after Thanksgiving break has been a bit of a struggle. Somehow, we all managed to get through it and are ready to take on the rest of the semester.
In class discussion this week, we talked about the difference between interactive and participatory exhibits. These terms often get used interchangeably but are actually two very different things. Our exhibit will consist of both. The time capsule and photo booth/guestbook are participatory because they change the exhibit as visitors pass through such as the time capsule filling up from people adding items and the streaming of photos taken with our props and the live stream of posts using a hashtag (TBD) for our guestbook. Our nesting bowl puzzle is more interactive allowing each visitor to figure out the puzzle on their own and returning the pieces to the way they were found.

The schematic design was the assignment due this week. Committees and individuals worked to pull this together by creating panel and text mock up designs, font size and style, floor plan and visitor path, additional tabs for this site (check out the oral history tabs to see who we're working with), special effects and lighting, and our methods of production.
Here is a bit about what we have to look forward to:
Elevation drawings
Budget and Scale Model
Exhibit Narrative
Label Copy
I think a few of us had mini panic attacks after seeing this list of assignments all due in the next two weeks. We've split up all the duties so each committee will be continuing to work on the same cases they've been working with all semester so it should go pretty smoothly.
Stay tuned for our last week of the semester. We hope you've enjoyed following along with our journey and continue to follow along as we go through the Spring semester.
